Many airlines offer same day round trip service from major cities into our airport and back. Most commercial airlines accept small dogs as carry-on traveling with passengers. Our airport, Springfield-Branson national airport (SGF) services: United, Delta, American and Allegiant. Special reservations, specific requirements, soft sided carry-on pet carriers and extra fees are required when traveling with a pet as your carry-on. Contact your airline for more information. We are happy to meet you in the airport just outside of security with your puppy.
If you have a private jet, helicopter or small plane we are also able to accommodate meeting you at one of our nearby airports that accommodate private planes.
Shipping
Airline Transportation

Just like people, one of the best way to travel is on a plane. Many of our puppies arrive to their new homes on an airplane. Air transportation is often the fastest way for you to receive you new Pomeranian. Puppies are shipped on American Airlines as Priority Parcel. No other airlines currently offer pet shipping. Puppies are transported in special pet cargo sections of the plane in a pressurized and climate controlled compartment. Only select planes offer this service. There are strict ground temperature restrictions so this service may be limited depending on the time of year. We use a pet travel agency to book all of our puppy travel so pricing is standardized for all available airport locations.
We make all the necessary reservations and obtain all the travel documents for your puppy’s flight.
All you need to do is pick up your puppy at your airport.
Your puppy will arrive in a new airline approved hard sided plastic shipping crate. The interior is loaded with shredded paper and has plenty of room to move around. Food and water are also inside the crate during travel. This crate is yours to keep and can be very useful on future trips to your vet or for other travel. Attached to the top of the crate you will find a packet with your documents and a small bag of food. Airline security regulations strictly prohibit us from placing anything else inside or outside of the crate such as leashes, blankets or toys.

Puppies do very well traveling via air. With nearly 20 years of flying puppies all over the Untied States we have not experienced any major issues shipping via airlines. Puppies take their travel all in stride and will arrive to you happy and excited to meet their new family.
Ground Transportation

We work with several professional ground transportation companies who travel to most areas of the country. Puppies travel in custom vans with 2 professional drivers on-board. Puppies travel in individual crates with food and water available at all times. They are checked regularly throughout the journey. Depending on your location, ground transportation usually takes longer than airline shipping. However they have more locations available and are not temperature restricted as the airlines are. In mid-summer and mid-winter ground transportation may be the only option for delivery. The custom vans the puppies travel in are climate controlled with backup systems in place. The ground transporters we use generally have a specific day of the week they leave here and then send their vans on routes across the country. One of the greatest benefits of using ground transportation is your puppy is delivered right to your door! Pricing varies slightly depending on your location.
What is needed at pickup
Airline and ground transporters require a government issued photo ID that matches the paperwork filed to book transportation. You will not be allowed to pick up your puppy without proper ID.
If your puppy is traveling to you by Air your puppy comes in an airline travel crate you get to keep.
All other forms of pickup and delivery your puppy does NOT come with a travel crate included.
If you are traveling home in a vehicle it is recommend you purchase a travel crate, carrier or car seat for your puppy. Puppies can be a distraction to driver and they are always safer in a crate. They will however love to snuggle on a lap if given the opportunity.

Travel of any kind, no matter how short, can cause some puppies to become motion sick. Often as they age they grow out of this. Come prepared at pickup with some paper towels and wet wipes just in case.
We recommend all new Pomeranian puppy owners have Nutri-Cal supplement on hand and know the signs of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) which is very common for toy breeds. This is critically important to be prepared and know the signs of hypoglycemia. See our page about HYPOGLYCEMIA.

Once you pick up your puppy head straight home. There will be plenty of time in the weeks and months to come to go toy shopping and show off your new puppy to your friends. Remember, your puppy is experiencing the most stressful event of its young life leaving it’s siblings and the only home it has ever known then traveling far away to a new family. Don’t worry they adjust quickly if given the time to rest and adjust.
Try and limit excitement and visitors for the first 24 to 48 hours so your puppy can rest and adjust to it’s new home and family.
With all new puppies watch them closely to make sure they continue to eat and drink regularly. The new sights and smells of it’s whole new world can be overwhelming. Now is a great time to start bonding with your new family member. Hugs and warm laps are comforting. Your family will become the whole world to your new puppy.
Never put young puppy on the ground in a dog park, rest stop, airport pet relief area, pet stores, city streets, etc until they are completely and fully vaccinated. Anywhere that unvaccinated or sick dogs may have been can be a serious danger zone for a young puppy with an immature immune system. Your new puppy is an infant and will need to be cared for as such. Your puppy will have had multiple vaccinations before traveling. However, puppies need ALL their puppy boosters vaccinations before they are considered fully vaccinated and protected from deadly diseases. Generally this is at 16 weeks of age. Talk to your vet about their recommendations to keep your puppy safe.
Keep your puppy at home or in controlled environments until it is fully vaccinated. Your own dogs or close friends dogs are fine as long as they are already fully vaccinated. Your backyard or friends fenced yards are fine as long as they have not been sprayed with chemicals. Wooded or other areas that may contain wild animals should also be avoided until your puppy has been vaccinated for rabies at 12-16 weeks of age depending on the state you live in. Do all that you can to protect your new baby and limit unneeded exposure to disease.
When can your puppy travel?
Puppies MUST be a minimum of 8 weeks old and 2 pounds before leaving us. We will never let a puppy leave our care until it is at least 8 weeks old. This is in accordance with the law.
Most of our Pomeranians are between 9-13 weeks old before leaving here. Our vets recommend puppies need to be 2 pounds before traveling or wait until they are over 12 weeks of age and received the rabies vaccination if they have not reached 2 pounds. This is for their safety. Pomeranians are a small toy breed and can be fragile especially at young ages. We will never let a puppy leave us until we are confident it will thrive in it’s new home. We know new families are so excited to welcome their puppy home but we are more concerned with the health and wellbeing of our puppies. When a puppy is very small they mature slower than larger puppies so it takes longer for them to be sturdy enough and ready to go to their new families. Don’t worry, you won’t miss the puppy stage whatsoever! Even a 13 week old puppy that is just over 2 pounds is very much a puppy!
